Khan Selim Rahman is serving as the founding president of Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) and Md. Mahidul Hasan Sarkar is serving as the founding general secretary.
Under their leadership, the organization is working with the determination to stand by journalists nationwide through a well-organized structure. Their strong stance in establishing the professional security, dignity and rights of journalists has made the organization a powerful platform.
Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) founding president Khan Selim Rahman said, “Protecting the professional dignity of journalists and practicing responsible journalism is the main goal of Bangladesh Central Press Club. Our commitment is to further strengthen the role of journalists in protecting the rights of the people through truthful, objective and ethical journalism.” He further said that the main goal of the current leadership is to transform the organization into an ideal and strong journalist organization based on unity and discipline.
He expressed optimism that Bangladesh Central Press Club will play an effective role in ensuring the welfare, professional development, training and security of journalists in the future as well. The organization will always strive to ensure that journalists working at the field level can perform their professional duties fearlessly and independently.
Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) founder General Secretary Md. Mahidul Hasan Sarkar said, “Journalism is a challenging profession these days. Journalists have to work under various types of pressure, attacks, lawsuits and harassment. Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) has always been working to ensure the rights of journalists by standing by them.” He further said that one of the organization’s goals is to improve the professional standards of journalists through training, seminars and workshops. One of the notable aspects of Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) is that wherever journalists are attacked, sued, tortured or harassed, the organization stands as a shield. The organization continues to implement its strong commitment to stand by the persecuted journalists by providing them with legal assistance, moral support and organizational cooperation. In such cases, the organization’s leadership takes prompt action to attract the attention of the concerned authorities and take initiatives to ensure justice.
