The Cox’s Bazar District Committee of Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) has been officially approved.
(21st December 2025) The approval was given at a grand ceremony at the organization’s head office located in Mirpur-10 area of the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
Through a press release signed by the founding president Khan Selim Rahman, founding general secretary Md. Mahidul Hasan Sarkar and senior vice president Sehli Parveen, the approval of the 31-member Cox’s Bazar District Committee was announced, with Khorshed Alam as the president and Nurul Hossain as the general secretary.
Present at the event were Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) founding president Khan Selim Rahman, senior vice president Sehli Parveen, vice president Mohammad Mahbub Uddin, vice president Lion Dr. A.Z.M. Mainul Islam Palash, vice president Md. Shafiqur Rahman Mamun, women’s affairs secretary Saeeda Sultana, joint secretary Md. Mitu Molla, publicity secretary Osama Bin Shihab and senior journalist Sohag Tipu, among others.
At that time, Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C) Founder General Secretary Md. Mahidul Hasan Sarkar, Senior Vice President Md. Shihab Uddin, Vice President Md. Mozammel Haque Babu, Vice President Shahabuddin Shan Ripon, Organizing Secretary Riyadul Mamun Sohag, Organizing Secretary Haider Khan Nagar were virtually involved.
At the event, the organization presented floral greetings to the newly elected Senior Vice President Sehli Parveen at the head office.
On behalf of the Cox’s Bazar District Committee, Central Women’s Secretary Saida Sultana and Joint Organizing Secretary Md. Mitu Molla received the official approved documents from the head office.
Speaking at the event, founding president Khan Selim Rahman said, Bangladesh Central Press Club, as an ideal, responsible and professional journalist organization, has been working tirelessly to protect the ethical standards of journalism and protect professional interests since its inception. The approval of the Cox’s Bazar District Committee is an important and timely step in the continuation of expanding organizational activities in every district and division of the country.
He also said, Cox’s Bazar is an international tourist city and an important border district. The role of a strong and united district committee in ensuring the professional safety of journalists in this district, providing objective and truthful news and maintaining the dignity of the media is immense. We hope that the Cox’s Bazar District Committee will work to implement the organization’s ideals with honesty, dedication and responsibility.
He assured the organization’s overall cooperation in developing the skills of journalists, training them, practicing ethics and ensuring professional safety, and said, practicing fearless, independent and truthful journalism for the welfare of the country and people is our main commitment.
At the end of the program, the leaders present extended their warmest greetings and congratulations to all the newly appointed members of the Cox’s Bazar District Committee, including the President, General Secretary, and expressed hope that the organization’s activities will be more well-organized, dynamic, and effective in the future.
